Workshops in the Silesian Library

Students of class 0DP2 together with their teacher, Mrs. Marta Skwarek, took part in workshops conducted in the Silesian Library in Katowice.

From the next school year, students of this class will follow the International Baccalaureate IB programme. As part of this program, they will write a lot of research papers or essays that require skillful searching and using various sources of information.

The Silesian Library is a public and provincial library with a scientific status.

Its collection includes over 2.6 million volumes, including: printed documents (books, brochures, magazines and other periodicals), handwritten materials (manuscripts, typescripts), cartographic materials (maps, plans, atlases), iconographic materials (graphics, photographs, postcards, bookplates), audiovisual documents (analogue and compact discs and cassette tapes), documents of social life, electronic information carriers (CDs and DVDs).

Students also had the opportunity to participate in the presentation of the smallest and largest books - from a miniature book to a huge volume.

At the end, each student was given a task to check their knowledge in practice.

"When in doubt, go to the library." (J.K. Rowling)
