Visit of teachers from Anne-Frank-Realschule in Mainz
From 12 to 16 June we hosted Julia and Damaris, teachers from the German partner school Anne-Frank-Realschule from Mainz. The visit began with a welcome and tour of the school, then Julia and Damaris observed English lessons at the Complex of Silesian International Schools. The next day began with the final of the online competition "Schweiz-KantonenLand, or a journey through the Cantons". The teachers could familiarize themselves with the innovative form of organizing an online competition. Later, there was a meeting of teachers participating in the exchange project of Ms. Małgorzata Bubik and Ms. Mariola Szendzielorz. During the meeting, an online exchange in the new school year was planned. Then the teachers from Mainz met with the students of class 5, who had already been taking part in various joint activities with students from Anne-Frank-Realschule from Mainz for a year (they send Christmas cards, exchange advent calendars, etc.). It was a great experience for both students and teachers because they met "live" for the first time. The ladies supervised a lesson of German and Mathematics. The next day started with the final of "Bunte Malgedichte" and Sketchnotki workshops. Teachers from Mainz learned a new drawing technique and had the opportunity to talk to the coordinators and participants of the competition. On the last day, the ladies could admire creative art classes and Lapbooks of the participants of the "DACHL-Lapbook" final. The last exchange point was a meeting in Mediateka in Katowice. The participants of the exchange had the opportunity to get acquainted with the Mediateka's collections, and then Julia and Damaris took part in a city game, where they had to perform specific tasks and went around Katowice at the same time.
