Over the centuries, our ideas about the light have changed. Although nowadays we know a lot about our vision (the way we see things), it is still a cool idea to experience the theory of light ourselves. September opened many opportunities for stages 5 to examine the part of the electromagnetic visible spectrum that human eyes can see. The young scientists, during their science lessons, followed an Arab mathematician and physicist Alhazen and used mostly the Sun as the source of light as well as other sources to prove that the light hits an object and then reflects from an object to the eyes of an observer. The children studied closer the rays of light, learnt more about the reflection, and discovered what happens when the light is obstructed and  how it changes direction. The use of  transparent, translucent, and opaque materials from everyday life contributed to developing children’s knowledge about the way light is absorbed or reflected. The young observers also had a chance to broaden their knowledge about plane, convex, and concave mirrors which are useful everyday, and they were also lucky to take part in superlatively interesting science workshops in Womai Centre in Krakow in order to learn more about light and look at it from a different perspective.
