The Extramural European Christmas Carols Contest
As every January, our school hosted the Extramural European Christmas Carols Contest for elementary school students. Precious prizes were funded by the Headmistress, Ms Jolanta Kałuża. The contest was organized by Ms Małgorzata Bubik – the Chairwoman of the Polish Association of German Language Teachers, and Ms Dorota Szewczyk-Świerniak. Students sang in English, German, and Spanish. Their language correctness, reproducing the melody, and the general artistic impression were marked.
The winner was Jagoda Rataj from Complex of Schools OMEGA, who sang the song "White Christmas”. The second prize was won by Julia Borówka from Elementary School No 65 in Katowice, who sang "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear”, and the third prize was won by Rafał Dudek ("Merry Christmas everyone”) from Private Elementary School "Szkoła jak Dom”. The jury also honorably mentioned: Grace Estep for singing "You're here” (Complex of Silesian International Schools) and Maja Stoszek - "Happy Christmas” (Elementary School No 65 in Katowice).
