"Newton and Mol" Workshop Highlights
Science is about experience, not just theory. Students from the Complex of Silesian International Schools and Szkoła jak Dom recently discovered this during a unique series of laboratory sessions.
The event was initiated by Dr. Edyta Burdzik-Niemiec, who designed the program based on the students' specific requests and interests. The workshop agenda included:
- Analyzing the physical properties of metals (conductivity and density),
- Testing pH levels and synthesizing hydroxides,
- Identifying mono- and polyhydroxy alcohols,
- Observing spectacular exothermic reactions.
Working independently with professional workstation instructions, the students were fully immersed in the scientific process. As one student put it, "the excitement was off the charts!" This hands-on approach not only clarifies complex chemical processes but also builds confidence in scientific research.
