Field study excursion to Auschwitz
Students of grades 0DP1 and IGCSE took part in a field study excursion to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum. The visit to the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp was a moving history lesson, prompting reflection on the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the importance of remembering the victims.
The occasion for the trip was the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the camp, which took place two months ago. During the tour, students had the opportunity to learn about the fate of the prisoners, and to reflect on the consequences of hatred and intolerance in history and in the modern world.
