Educational and integration trip of the 0DP2 class to Toruń and the Tri-City

From 12 to 14 June 2023, students of class 0DP2 together with their teacher went on a trip to Toruń and the Tri-City.

Toruń is a city inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. Toruń is also the city where Nicolaus Copernicus was born. The year 2023 is the year under the patronage of Nicolaus Copernicus, who in his most famous work "De revolutionibus orbium coelestium" presented the assumptions of the heliocentric structure of the Solar System, which destroyed the contemporary image of the world. His discovery caused a scientific revolution called the Copernican revolution.

Nicolaus Copernicus was born on February 19, 1473 in Toruń, in a merchant family. He was a Polish lawyer, official, diplomat, doctor, lower Catholic clergyman, doctor of canon law, also dealing with astronomy and astrology, mathematics, economics, military strategy, cartography, and philology.

He called himself Nicolaus Copernicus Thorunensis, thus emphasizing his origin, his Toruń roots.

In Toruń, we visited the Old Town and its monuments, the Gingerbread Museum, where we baked gingerbread ourselves, and the House of Nicolaus Copernicus.

We also visited Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot, including the Oceanarium, the Museum of Illusions, the "Dar Pomorza" ship, and others.

The trip, which combined education, but also team integration, turned out to be very successful.
