Cleaning up Witosa! A Local Lesson in Global Responsibility
September at our school is traditionally the time when we actively participate in the international initiative, "Clean Up the World". For us, this is more than just a one-off event—it’s a living lesson in responsibility and engagement!
For yet another year, our students proved that they have a heart for ecology. They enthusiastically took part in the local cleanup action on the Witosa estate. Every found bottle, box, or piece of paper counted. Thanks to their efforts, our local area has become cleaner and more beautiful!
What We Teach and What Behaviours We Promote?
The goal of our campaign is to build an informed, pro-ecological attitude from the youngest age. By participating in "Clean Up the World" we promote key behaviours that are the foundation of responsible living:
-
We teach children that caring for the natural environment is their personal duty. We actively show them that they have a real impact on the cleanliness of their immediate surroundings and the entire planet.
-
We emphasize that big changes start with small, daily actions. Every piece of litter collected is a step towards a better future. Students learn that their daily decisions—regarding recycling, segregation, or waste reduction—have a huge significance.
-
Knowledge and Awareness: The cleanup action was preceded by special educational sessions dedicated to the topic of planetary pollution and ways to prevent the situation from worsening. We believe that awareness is the first step towards change, and building knowledge about the climate crisis and ecology in children is an investment in future generations.
What We Aim to Achieve?
Through these activities, we want to develop a lasting ecological sensitivity in our students and teach them how to become active, pro-social, and responsible members of the global community. We want the graduates of our school to be future leaders who will make decisions with sustainable development and environmental protection in mind.
At our school, we teach not only languages and core subjects, but also respect for the planet we all share. Check out the photo gallery from this year's action!
