Baroque Virtuoso on the DK Witosa Stage – A Concert Dedicated to Antonio Vivaldi!

Koncert Vivaldiego_.jpg

An extraordinary encounter with classical music took place for young listeners at the Witosa Culture Centre in Katowice! Children from stages 3-5 participated in a fascinating symphony concert dedicated to the Baroque icon – Antonio Vivaldi.

The chamber ensemble Sinfonia Silesia took our youngest audience members on a journey into the world of the Italian master's most famous works. Naturally, the programme had to include the renowned suite “The Four Seasons,” from which the exceptionally atmospheric and colourful movement – “Autumn” – was presented.

However, the concert was not just passive listening! It was a true lesson and an interactive spectacle:

  • The children had the opportunity to get acquainted up close with the sound and characteristics of selected instruments that make up an orchestra – including the delicate flute (or transverse flute) and the deep-toned cello.
  • The performance was enriched with numerous, interesting anecdotes from the life of Antonio Vivaldi, which allowed the children not only to understand his music but also to learn about his remarkable personality.

This event once again proved that classical music has the power to engage and educate, opening the door to the world of art!
