An international visit to our school

On Wednesday, October 18th, we had the honour to host an international delegation, along with representatives of University of Silesia (among others, Professor Alicja Ratuszna) and representatives of Regional Methodical Centre.

The visit was organized as part of our cooperation with University of Silesia and SMCEBI, an associated partner of LELETO project - Leading to Learn Together, financed as part of Erasmus+.

The main goal of LELETO is designing a new quality approach in terms of teachers' professional development and gathering good, innovative educational practicrs. A handbook will be the final product, in which the best experiences will be collected; then, workshops will be organized in partner countries. The leader of the project is a Latvian organization Rigas Izglibitas un informativi metodiskais centrs. Moreover, partner organizations from Great Britain (City Council Leeds), Lithuania, Latvia, and Estinia (Tartu University) participate in the project.

The visit to our school began with the official reception, conducted by the Headmistress, mgr Jolanta Kałuża. After a short artistic part, a piano concert played by our talented students Xin Zongrong and Zhang Yinghan, we watched a movie prepared by Ms Ekaterini Papas-Rotko, which beautifully presented our schools. An "international corner" and Erasmus+ posters were displayed in the assembly hall.

Our Guests could see how specific our schools are. During the discussion panel, coordinators of particular divisions of the school answered numerous questions concerning methodology in the Polish curriculum and in the international ones: Cambridge and IB. After a short break, junior high school students showed the delegation around the school (explaining everything in English), and demonstration classes took place. Also, everyone had time to talk in private and have a snack.

The visit was organised and supervised by Ms Marta Skwarek.

A warm thank you goes to everyone who contributed to the organisation and the course of the visit: Ms Ekaterini Papas-Rotko, the Coordinators, Ms Joanna Stebel for interpreting, Ms Katarzyna Kania, Ms Anna Stebel, and Mr Joe Babio for conducting the demostration classes, Ms Małgorzata Andrysiak, Ms Marta Zemła and Mr Sebastian for the technical help, and Mr Michał Skowroński for the pictures.
