A trip to Palm House in Gliwice
Citrus plants, spices or exotic palms and cactuses - there is no better day to study the details of an impressive tropical forest than a chilly winter Friday. Students of Checkpoint 1, 2, and 3, along with their tutors, went to Palm House in Gliwice in those weather conditions. Apart from 3,000 species of plants, students had a chance to observe a faithful mapping of Tanganika Lake, situated in Africa, as well as its fauna and aquatic flora. A trip to Palm House, which was built in the 19th century, was a great opportunity to broaden the knowledge in the field of biology and geography, but also to integrate as a group - and both aims were achieved.
