11th Extramural European Christmas Carols Contest
Traditionally, out school hosted Extramural European Christmas Carols Contest for students of primary schools and junior high schools. 12 schools from Silesian province participated in the contest. This year, we listened to the contestants on the 12th of January. Students sang in English, German, and Spanish. Language correctness, singing in tune, and general artistic impression were judged. Precious awards for the contestants were funded by the Headmistress, Ms Jolanta Kałuża. The contest was organized by the Chairwoman of the Polish Association of Teachers of German Language, Department in Katowice, Ms Małgorzata Bubik.
Additionally, before the official part, students from Private Primary School "Szkoła Jak Dom", Private Junior High School "Amicus", and Complex of Silesian International Schools sang in Polish, English, German, and Spanish.
Patrycja Chrząszcz, who sang "Santa Claus is coming to town", won in the primary school category. The second prize was won by Nadia Bekkar, who sang "Let it snow" in English, and the third prize was won by Nadia Partyka ("So this is Christmas"). Among junior high school students, Jagoda Sadziak, who sang "Everybody’s Whiting for the man with the bag”, won the first prize. Other laureates in this category were: Agata Damczyk ("Mary, did you know?") and Grace Estep ("Hallelujah").
